STEWARDSHIP UPDATE FROM THE RECTOR |
|
|
|
|
To date our parish has raised $681,000 of the $890,000 we need to fund our 2017 budget. This is great but we are not yet done! If you have not yet pledged for 2017, please do so now. If you are new to the parish, please know that we count on everyone pledging.
You can pledge online at our website under the Stewardship tab or call in your pledge to Diane in our office at 303-442-5246, or email it to her at dwells@stjohnsboulder.org.
Your pledge is vitally important to the continued health of this parish. If St John's worship and programs are important to you, then please pledge to support them financially in 2017. Tell us how much you can commit to giving the church. The vestry will approve a budget in January. If insufficient money is raised then the vestry has no choice but to look at cutting staff and programs.
St John's receives no money from the diocese and has no endowment. Every dollar spent comes from generous and faithful people like you. If you have pledged for 2017, thank you again! If you have not yet pledged, my prayer is that the Spirit moves in you and calls forth great generosity and commitment to this wonderful faith community.
Blessings,
Grace and peace,
Susan+

Remember our church with a year-end gift…to help retire the 2016 budget deficit. The deficit is due to a shortfall in the income we anticipated receiving this year, and is not due to expense over-run (in fact, expenses have been very well controlled!)
We began our appeal a week ago with a deficit of $63,000. Thanks to a few generous donors, that number is down to $43,500! Can you help reduce it further, and help bring it down to zero?
Any gift you can make will help your church end the year with a balanced budget, and your gift is tax deductible. To make a year-end gift, simply write “Year-End Gift” in the memo line of your check and mail it to the office or place it in the offering plate on Sunday.
These year-end gifts, of course, are in addition to your 2016 pledge and not in lieu of it. This is an excellent time to make sure your 2016 pledge is paid in full.
As always, we make this request with grateful hearts for the incredible generosity of our parishioners. Thank you for all you have given to our church, and thank you for being part of this wonderful, vibrant community of faith!

Thank you!
Paul often affirmed members of the churches he shepherded by telling them he was thanking God for them. In Philippians 1:3-5 Paul writes, "I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now." This week, the staff and leaders of St John's give thanks to God for those listed below, praying with joy that these good people are sharing in the work of the gospel in our parish.
- Diane Wells for making Ebrahim's reception/coffee hour a success
- All those who brought goodies for coffee hour
- Paul Paiva for a great adult forum
- All of the many volunteers that helped tackle the folding of the Christmas bulletins, your hard work is greatly appreciated!!
