 SUNDAY ADULT FORUM SERIES ON THE SPIRITUALITY OF AGING

If you are alive you are aging, and you probably find yourself bombarded with cultural messages that aging is the enemy. But research suggests that aging brings the gift of an increased interest in the spiritual life, and so perhaps this natural process is the not really the enemy we've been led to believe. If God is in all things then God is in aging as well. Join us Jan 7th thru Feb 11th for a 5-session read-and-small-group-discussion series on The Spirituality of Aging. All sessions meet for an hour beginning at 11:30am, and meet in the library and chapel. For the Jan 21st session we will meet in the Parish Hall.

SACRED SOUNDS:   SOLAS ON JAN. 7th at 7 p.m.

OFFERED BY THESE MUSICIANS:
Stefan Waligur, Marcy Baruch, Stephen Bross, Tom Duffy

When we think about Sacred Sounds most of us relate this to church music that we sing on Sunday mornings. However, Sacred Sounds expand well beyond so we are blessed to explore the wide varieties that range from the Universe and our very own bodies, minds, cells, and so forth.

GOD, CREATOR OF THE COSMOS, IS A SOUND.
EVERYTHING BEGINS WITH SOUND.

SOUND IS A DIRECT LINK BETWEEN
HUMANITY AND THE DIVINE.
AS HUMANS WE ARE SOUND BEINGS.

THREE POWERFUL AND SACRED TONES
OF THE WORLD ARE: OM, AUM, AND AMEN.

SOUND ENGAGES US IN NATURE, WAVES IN WATER, HUMMING, TONING, CHANTING, SINGING BOWLS AND BELLS, STONES, TOMBS, CAVES, MOUNTAINS

SOUND IS THE OLDEST FORM OF HEALING.
SOUND IS ESSENTIAL TO FEED THE BRAIN.
SOUND COMES IN VOICE AND INSTRUMENT

WHAT IS INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY AT
ST. JOHN’S?

Currently, there is one such group at St. John’s.  It was formed in the fall of 2015 by 10 of us, laity, male and female, who wanted an ongoing mutual commitment in relationship as a way to connect more deeply with God and each other, and to connect God more deeply with the whole of life. We seek to facilitate this with a structure that encourages individual and collective ongoing prayer, worship, study, reflection, spiritual formation, group soul-friending, and service as we continue as active members of our own households, our parish, and the world.  We meet weekly, taking a week off here and there for special holidays.  We have had a yearly retreat, at which times we are blessed to have clergy leadership.  We have written, shared, and have begun to update our person spiritual autobiographies and rules of life.

We think that it is important to keep groups such as ours small; yet we would also like to facilitate growth of such groups at St. John’s since we have talked with other parishioners who have expressed interest in such a group.  We recommend that there be at least 6 to 8 people to form such a group and that a sense of call to be a part of such a group be more important than the previous level of acquaintance of those who form the group.  There are a few members of our group who would be available to meet with the new group for several months to mentor their formation.  We would hope that the new group would be open to this. In order to make it easier for persons who are interested to identify each other, Heather Dudok (HDudok@stjohnsboulder.org) has agreed to collect the names and contact information over the next 4 weeks then, on Jan. 28th, share them with all who have indicated interest.  She will also give the names and contact information of those in the current intentional community group who are available as mentors.  Giving your name to Heather does not commit you to joining such a group (or using the same name for it) but is simply a way of helping you to identify each other and begin a conversation about it.

2018 VESTRY NOMINATIONS

At our Annual Meeting, the congregation will vote for three new vestry members. Voting will open on January 12th and close January 22nd. During this time you can vote online, or in person at the St. John’s office, within posted office hours. (In the unlikely event of a tie, a tiebreaker vote will take place on the floor at the annual meeting). We are fortunate to have seven parishioners who are interested in serving on the Vestry for the next three-year term. The candidates for consideration are:

Angela Bristol

Member Since: 2010

Personal: In May, I married my wonderful husband, Scott. Together, we have four daughters and three dogs. Our home in Golden is always quite lively. I am blessed.

I have been lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom to my three daughters; Chandler and Madelyn are grown and live in Golden. My youngest daughter, Abigail des Cognets (13), has been an Acolyte at St. John's for three years.

I was raised and baptized in the Baptist Church. At the age of 25, I began to seek a deeper relationship with God. After visiting several churches, I discovered a small Episcopal Church and knew I was home. I immediately loved the Traditional Liturgical services and was confirmed in 1993.

Education/Professional: I have a B.A. Degree in Psychology (Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO.) and attended the International Culinary School in Denver, CO. I have worked part-time at Cured Boulder for the past two years.

Experience: I am currently serving a second year on the Board of Directors for BoulderCentre of Orthopedics Cycling Team. I am also on my community HOA Board of Directors. Both positions involve, financial planning, fund raising, organization, and team work. I have also spent many years working with children in Elementary Schools, teaching Environmental classes, helping challenged readers, and numerous other activities.

Why do you wish to serve on the vestry: St. John's has been an important part of my life and continues to nurture my spiritual growth. I would love the opportunity to learn, grow, and serve alongside fellow Christians as we continue to provide a warm, open, and loving Parish to others.

What qualities or skills do you bring to vestry service: I have served as the Acolyte Coordinator at St. John's for the past two years. In previous churches, I have served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Host, and Christian Education Teacher. In 2005 I attended the Episcopal Cursillo Ministry in Canada. Each ministry has allowed me insight into the importance of the Parish coming together to continue God's work. God has given each of us a special gift to share on His behalf and I believe I have been blessed with the ability to reach out and connect with others.

What dreams do you have for our parish: I would love to see families growing and coming together through worship, ministries, and fellowship. I believe today, more than ever, we need to have a place where we feel safe and loved. My dream is to continue making St. John's a haven for individuals and families for generations to come.

Hobbies: I am a passionate cyclist and cook. I enjoy tending my herb garden, spending time in the mountains with my family, and walking our dogs.

Stephen Christopher

Personal: I was born at Bolder Community Hospital, baptized at St. John’s Church, attended Boulder Valley Schools, and graduated from the University of Colorado with two degrees in Music Education.  My wife, Louise, and I raised our family in Boulder, with all three of our children being baptized at St. John’s, and attending Boulder Schools.  We share in their growing families, with 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
History with church: My Episcopal roots run deep in our family and especially St. John’s.  My uncle was an Episcopal priest, my cousin is an Episcopal priest, and our daughter in-law’s mother is an Episcopal Priest in Connecticut. Growing up, I served as an acolyte at St. John’s, and our children continued as acolytes, choir, and in youth activities.  St. John’s is home of many memories for the Christopher family from baptisms, to weddings and funerals. I have had the privilege of performing for Father Pat, Father Fowkes, Father Ravenel, Father Jim, Father Rol and now Pastor Susan. Both St. John’s columbarium and labyrinth are visible memories of our family’s involvement.
What qualities or skills do you bring to vestry service? Throughout my career, I have developed strong leadership skills as Instrumental Music Coordinator for the Boulder Valley Schools, President of the Musicians’ Union, department chair of music faculties, band director, and educator of all age levels including adults.  This has provided me with the opportunity to learn negotiation skills, teaching methods, and the ability to understand the various forms of communication when dealing with groups of people.  Serving as a judge and clinician has also broadened my ability to evaluate performance skills and communicate suggestions for growth.
Professional: After 42 years, I retired as Director of Jazz Studies and Director of Bands at Fairview High School.  During this time, I also served as Instrumental Music Coordinator Boulder Valley Schools.  Currently I am on the faculty of the Center for Musical Arts (Colorado Music Festival & Center for Musical Arts) serving as the Director of Jazz Studies.  I am a noted judge and clinician serving in various capacities and performing as a freelance musician. In recognition of my contributions and dedication to advancing music education, I was inducted into the Colorado Music Educators Hall of Fame in January 2010, and in August 2013, I was named the Pacesetter for Arts and Entertainment by the Boulder Daily Camera.  Recently I received the distinction of being named a Longmont 100 Recipient.
Why do you wish to serve on the vestry:  My wish to serve on the vestry is to honor my family history and carry this tradition on.  Both my parents, Dick and Maggie Christopher, served on the vestry and Dick was the treasurer of St. John’s for many years and was very prominent in the development of San Juan del Centro (St. John’s low income housing).  My grandmother was also involved in St. John’s during the early beginnings.  As Father Rol once shared  ...“you are a vibrant and strong congregation full of intelligence, faith, enthusiasm and most of all, love.  I know you will carry on with purpose and steadfast resolve.”  St. John’s has given so much to our family and I now believe it is time to give back.
What dreams do you have for our parish?  I would like to be part of the ongoing commitment of the parish leadership in meeting our spiritual needs and the growth of St. John’s.  I especially support the continued success of the excellent music program under the direction of Tom Morgan.
Hobbies: My grandfather instilled in me a love for baseball.  He was part of the Boston Red Sox organization in the late 20’s and raised me on Red Sox baseball in Boulder, CO.  This has become a family passion beyond what some would think of as a hobby.  It is also important to me that I get to share the professional stage with my wife, Louise, at the Center for Musical Arts (Colorado Music Festival & Center for Musical Arts), where she serves  in Development and I continue to educate and perform, sharing our love of  music.

Steve Clarke

Member since 1973 (Official and Unofficial :>)); Confirmed/Received in May 1961

Personal: I’m someone whose happiness and contentment comes from living a simple life, by spending time with family and friends, with my animals, in nature, at St. John’s, and by playing, singing, composing, and listening to all kinds of music.

Professional: I am an Anthropologist and University Book Publisher and/or Editor by professions, but the most pertinent and important experiences/skills I would bring to the Vestry have been learned from service on the Boards of various arts and education organizations. I feel honored to currently be serving on the Board of Tom Morgan’s wonderful Ars Nova Singers.

Why do you wish to serve on the vestry: I’ve been both a regular and “occasional” member of St. John’s for more than forty years and feel that in retirement I have finally been called to work for our St. John’s Community in a more substantive way than in the past. I grew-up in the Episcopal Church, sang in choir as a kid, went to an Episcopal High (boarding) School where the saying “seven days a week and twice on Sundays” describes the literal frequency we were required to be in Chapel services. Partly because of that, my brain is still stuck in the old 1928 Prayer Book when reciting things like the Nicene Creed. I first started worshipping at St. John’s in the early ‘70s when a grad student at CU, my partner Susan and I were married by Father Jim, and Father Rol was my friend, first as a fellow parishioner, and ultimately as Rector. In years past, Susan has helped teach Sunday School, I’ve served on the Outreach Committee, and our daughter Molly worked her way up in seniority to play Gabriel in the Christmas Pageant. I now sing in Choir…the music and camaraderie of which makes me smile, and also serve weekly as a volunteer in the Parish Office…a great way to meet and talk to many of you.

What qualities or skills do you bring to vestry service:  Probably the main attributes I would bring to the Vestry are project management skills, some creative juices, more than a few bad puns/quips, lots of available time as a retiree, and a sense of history of what St. John’s has meant to both our own Parish Community and the Boulder Community at large.

What dreams do you have for our parish: I always like to say, “it’s not whether you reach your dreams, but that your reach for them,” but through smarts, big hearts, and hard work, the leadership and Parish Community of St. John’s have always managed to achieve both. My dream is simply that St. John’s continues to be a Community where we support each other through thick-and-thin, and is a safe haven and place for worship, peace, reflection, comfort, joy and love…for ourselves, the entire Boulder community, and in whatever smaller ways we can be for Colorado, our country, and the world.

Hobbies: My hobbies include being out on the trails with my Golden Retriever, helping friends take care of their horses, writing music, and dancing with my wife to classic tunes of the 1930s and ‘40s.

Sharon Monroe

Personal: I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. I was also raised Catholic, and attended Catholic school for 1-8th grade. I met Mark while in college and we both graduated from Virginia Tech. We moved to Boulder very soon after. We became members of St. Ambrose in 1994. In Spring of 1995, I was received and Mark was confirmed at a Diocesan Confirmation here at St. John's. We have three children, Coleen, who is living and teaching with her husband in Hanoi. Delaney, who is a first grade teacher in Loveland lives with her boyfriend in Longmont. And Jake, who works at Cintas and lives with his wife, who is an ESL teacher, in Greeley. I have been involved in ministry at St. Ambrose, including Youth Pastor, Bookstore manager, Group Spiritual Direction, Anglican Fellowship of Prayer, Bible Study and Children's Ministries. I've worked with Outreach at St. John's some years back.

Professional: I have worked as a Real Estate Broker in Boulder County since 2005. In that time, I worked with the owner of REMAX Alliance, Boulder, helping him with his clients, as well as my own. In the downturn, I was a Platinum Listing Agent with Bank of America to relist and sell 50 homes over a couple years. Requiring lots of detailed work, as well as quick response. In the last few years, I have changed from REMAX to owning Monroe Real Estate, with a staff of 3. I help folks buy and sell properties in the Front Range area, as well as the Mountains when needed by my clients. I usually close about 35 transactions a year, from family homes, to horse farms and fishing camps, to investment properties. I have hired a buyer's agent to handle a lot of my buyer's needs, to lessen my work load. I have also been a recruiter and Regional Manager of a staffing company, in my early work years. I founded Colorado Writers Workshop in 2000 and directed two workshops a year at Chautauqua until 2009, bringing great writers from all over the US to learn from successful authors. This program has been handed off to a friend and is not something I still run today.

Why do you wish to serve on the vestry? A few months ago, I started to feel that maybe it was time to plug in and share my gifts more intentionally at St. John's. I have been praying for that to become clearer.

What qualities or skills do you bring to vestry service? I think I can help bring new ideas and offerings to our community at St. John's and beyond. I am a praying person. I have done things with the Diocese (Regional Youth training and gatherings, Spiritual Direction, Anglican Fellowship of Prayer.) I've offered workshops on Spiritual Journaling.

What dreams do you have for our parish? I think the one dream I have is to help get speakers and teachers to come offer a time of learning and growing at St. John's. And partner with groups at St. John's that like this kind of learning. I participated in a Three-Day retreat about Celtic Spirituality with John Philip Newell at Iliff in Denver and would love to find a way to bring him and his wife to our area. Or someone else that might fit. I would like to ease the load, by helping those who are already doing vestry. I dream of a St. John's learning and growing.

Hobbies: I write fiction and non-fiction, I like to be outdoors with my family and friends. I like genealogy and work on filling in family trees. I enjoy bluegrass music and play guitar at a beginner's level.

Janice Moore

Member since 2006; Received in 2007

Personal: With my standard poodles, I’ve lived in Colorado for over 30 years.

Professional: I feel lucky and blessed in my life as a biology professor, which gives me an opportunity to satisfy my wide-ranging curiosity, to learn lots about animals in particular, and most important, to perhaps make a difference in the lives of my students. That last is what attracted me to life in the academy.

Why do you wish to serve on the vestry? I believe that service is not something extra that we do; it is an integral part of a good life. Service to my church, my community, and my profession has always been a major component of my life. Serving on the vestry would be a challenge, but one that I welcome, because it is a unique opportunity to see St. John’s up close and personal, and to help when I can.

What qualities do you bring to vestry service? Broadly speaking, I bring curiosity, enthusiasm, a twitchy combination of idealism and pragmatism, and the natural impulse to look at every side of a problem. These qualities and others have served me well in a variety of tasks. In addition to teaching and research, in my professional life I have shepherded countless small projects through innumerable committees and councils, and with a pathetically small budget, supervised the delivery of core courses to hundreds of students. In my community, I have served a total of 17 years on the Lafayette Open Space Advisory Committee (~7 years) and the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee (~10 years), Council and Commissioner appointments, respectively. At St. John’s, Bill Ashworth and I facilitated a video-based adult education program (Living the Questions), and I have served as a licensed Eucharistic Visitor. I am a graduate of Education for Ministry, an experience that is way deeper and broader than its title might indicate, and one I highly recommend. I currently feed my soul—and I hope the souls of others!--by
singing in St. John’s Choir, helping with the Grocery Card Ministry, and serving as a Lector. What dreams do you have for our parish? Of course, I want us to be spiritual food for everyone, and yes, magnificently solvent! How do we get there? From a pragmatic viewpoint, we need to continue to feed the ministries that nurture our people in all their diversity, and we need to listen to each other and support each other as we seek new ways to learn and serve. On a more panoramic scale, I keep thinking that if a fraction of the people who identify as Christians could learn how to be conduits for the love of God, the world would change. What are the obstacles to that, and how can we give up our attachment to those silly—but potent-- obstacles? I believe that this is a core question for St. John’s and the global church if we wish to claim the 21st century. It is certainly a core question for me.

Hobbies: I enjoy my dogs, theatre, music, reading, writing. . . .History intrigues me and I am drawn to visit places with deep historical roots and stories to tell.

Sue Morse

Member since: 2003; received in 2013

Personal: I was raised in Colorado, eldest of five children. I met my spouse, Bob, in college and have been married ever since.  We have 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 4 grandchildren and 2 grand-dogs.   After living in the Midwest and the East Coast, Boulder has been home for the past 25 years.  Our long spiritual journey brought us to St. John’s (thankfully).  I mostly attend the 7:30 service and occasionally you will see me at 9:30.

Professional: I am happily retired after a 35+ year career in Human Resources, the last 20 years in senior leadership roles primarily in the high tech and services industries.  Since I still have a passion for working with groups and developing leaders, I volunteer with St. John’s and other local non-profits to assist them with culture and leadership efforts.

Why do you wish to serve on the Vestry: Our vestry serves an important role in the life of St. John’s - one that I would like to support.  I am especially interested in helping our efforts to grow our parish and our faith community.  I see serving on the Vestry as a compliment to my professional life and the work I have already done with St. John’s.

What qualities or skills do you bring to vestry service: I bring qualities and skills in 3 major areas: human resources, non-profit board experience and active service to St. John’s.  Along with my Human Resources professional experience, I have served on multiple boards and chaired the board of Boulder’s Community Food share.  I am very committed to supporting St John’s and have held several roles: chair of the HR Committee, member of the Altar Guild and it’s president, chair of several of our search committees, chair of the on-boarding team formed to quickly integrate then newly called Pastor Susan into our community, and coordinator of the St. John’s hiking group.

What dreams do you have for our parish: My dream is that we continue growing, adding new members and creating an even more welcoming place for young families to ensure the future of our journey in faith together.

Hobbies:  I love to run and hike when I don’t have plantar fasciitis.  When I do, I like to travel and read a lot.

Vanessa Thorsten

Personal: In 2015, my husband, two boys and I moved to Arvada, Colorado to be closer to my family.  Soon after our arrival, we became members of St. John’s.  Susan even came out to bless our home.  At the end of August, we added a new member to our family - a sweet poodle puppy.

Professional: For the past 17 years, I have enjoyed working as a public health researcher on studies related to pregnancy, child birth and child development.  The work is very rewarding, as we often investigate whether simple, inexpensive solutions can make an impact on complex problems related to the survival and well-being of women and children.

Why do you wish to serve on vestry? I love our church and want to support our community.  It would be very humbling to serve on our vestry.

What qualities or skills you bring to vestry? My work involves people from many different backgrounds and has taught me to listen well and be an active participant.  Prior to moving to Colorado, I served for two years on the vestry at our church (St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri).  Although every church is different, I learned about the roles of the vestry and some of the general norms of the Episcopal church through this experience.  At St. John’s I volunteer regularly in Level II Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and can bring the perspective of a parent with young children to the vestry.

What dreams do you have for our parish? Throughout my life, communities of faith have kept me connected to God and helped me to learn and grow and cherish others.  I dream that our parish will continue to be a place that is welcoming and nurturing for all on a journey of faith.  As a parent, I hope that we continue to sustain and develop our children’s ministry.

Hobbies: I love to hike, camp, ski, read, do crafts, and watch old movies and basketball.

Mark your calendars! Annual Meeting

We are requesting that if you chose to bring a dish that it be finger foods/tapas. Some examples could be: fresh fruit (cleaned and prepared), nuts, dried fruits, dips with crackers or vegetables, sliced assorted breads, prepared finger sandwiches, olives, and mini quiches. Thank you!

Paul often affirmed members of the churches he shepherded by telling them he was thanking God for them. In Philippians 1:3-5 Paul writes, "I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now."

  • Thank you to Matt Dane for leading the youth string ensemble on December 10th
  • Thank you to Margot Krimmel for playing the harp at the 7:30 Christmas Eve service
  • Thank you to the Altar Guild, The Verger Guild, & The Acolyte Guild for their good, faithful, and extra service on Christmas Eve
  • Thank you to the Members of the St. John's Intentional Community for leading Morning Prayer on Christmas Eve
  • Thank you for the all the generous people who answered the call for year end gifts to the church

Isaiah 60:1-6

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will appear over you.
Nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Lift up your eyes and look around;
they all gather together, they come to you;
your sons shall come from far away,
and your daughters shall be carried on their nurses' arms.
Then you shall see and be radiant;
your heart shall thrill and rejoice,
because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you,
the wealth of the nations shall come to you.
A multitude of camels shall cover you,
the young camels of Midian and Ephah;
all those from Sheba shall come.
They shall bring gold and frankincense,
and shall proclaim the praise of the Lord.

Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14
1 Give the King your justice, O God, *
and your righteousness to the King's Son;
2 That he may rule your people righteously *
and the poor with justice;
3 That the mountains may bring prosperity to the people, *
and the little hills bring righteousness.
4 He shall defend the needy among the people; *
he shall rescue the poor and crush the oppressor.
5 He shall live as long as the sun and moon endure, *
from one generation to another.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown field, *
like showers that water the earth.
7 In his time shall the righteous flourish; *
there shall be abundance of peace till the moon shall be no more.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall pay tribute, *
and the kings of Arabia and Saba offer gifts.
11 All kings shall bow down before him, *
and all the nations do him service.
12 For he shall deliver the poor who cries out in distress, *
and the oppressed who has no helper.
13 He shall have pity on the lowly and poor; *
he shall preserve the lives of the needy.
14 He shall redeem their lives from oppression and violence, *

Ephesians 3:1-12

This is the reason that I Paul am a prisoner for Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles-- for surely you have already heard of the commission of God's grace that was given me for you, and how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I wrote above in a few words, a reading of which will enable you to perceive my understanding of the mystery of Christ. In former generations this mystery was not made known to humankind, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: that is, the Gentiles have become fellow heirs, members of the same body, and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
Of this gospel I have become a servant according to the gift of God's grace that was given me by the working of his power. Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ, and to make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose that he has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have access to God in boldness and confidence through faith in him.

Matthew 2:1-12

In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage." When King Herod heard this, he was frightened, and all Jerusalem with him; and calling together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They told him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it has been written by the prophet:
`And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for from you shall come a ruler
who is to shepherd my people Israel.'"
Then Herod secretly called for the wise men and learned from them the exact time when the star had appeared. Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, "Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that I may also go and pay him homage." When they had heard the king, they set out; and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen at its rising, until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road.
