Description

Kenneth Lewis was a very strong supporter of the junior members of Beefmaster Cattle Breeders and the East Texas State Fair. He was also Dean of Admission and Registrar for Tyler Junior College for 45 years where he sponsored the Rodeo Club. He, his wife Patsy, and their family are fourth generation Beefmaster cattle breeders. Mr. Lewis was a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Robert W. Miles enjoyed rodeo, cattle events, cruising the Caribbean, and sitting on the porch drinking Dr. Pepper. He was a "real deal Cowboy" and rancher. He attended the University of Texas.

This scholarship supports student members of the Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association and honors the memory of two exceptional men.

The amount awarded may vary depending on number of scholarships and funds available.

Requirements

High School / Residency
Recipient must be a graduating senior from a public, private, or homeschool in the United States in the year of application.

College Major
Recipients may pursue a degree program in any major at any accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States as a full-time student.

Other Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must have participated in agriculture activities during high school. Applicants must also be current members in good standing in the Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association and must have been members in the year prior to making application.

Financial Need
Financial need will be considered but not above other criteria.

Dependents of scholarship committee members are not eligible to apply. Applicants should be available for a personal interview, if requested.
