Dear Friends. I know it has been a while since our last newsletter but we try not to overload your inbox. Still, these are stories -- and opportunities -- we don't want you to miss!

Art Bridging Cultures: Ugandan and Nepali Artists Join Hands for Hope

And there's more to come as we continue our efforts to save children and young women from those who would prey on them, to protect earthquake orphans, to rebuild and refurbish dangerous schools that put children at risk, and to launch a dynamic emergency medicine program.

ARTISTS ENGAGING NEPAL

The power of art is incredible. It transcends borders and it flows across barriers of language, culture, and identity to touch our souls and our hearts. Art transforms us, enriches us and changes us. On October 29th we will highlight the incredible work of young artists from Uganda and Nepal who know this -- and who know that their art is an expression of our common humanity.

We are excited to introduce to you these dynamic artists who have joined hands with Soarway in our effort to make a difference for the people of Nepal. We are humbled by their selflessness as they share their creativity and talent to help the people of Nepal. Together we fight to protect those who are vulnerable, together we work to aid those who are in need, and together we commit ourselves to helping all we engage to live lives of productivity and dignity. I hope that you will feel as compelled as I do to match their compassion and concern with action.

Every one of us can make a difference in the world in which we live. We can all touch lives. We can all help create a future that the people of Nepal can face with hope rather than fear. We need only commit, like the artists whose work is on display today, to being part of something bigger than ourselves.

Our friends at the Umoja Gallery in Uganda did exactly that as they worked to make this event possible. Bidhata KC, one of our Nepali artists did just that as she orchestrated the participation of our fine Nepali artists. And the wonderful folks at the Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA did exactly kindly have shared their space, their time and their expertise helping to prepare these works for display. I hope that you will feel as compelled as I do to match the compassion and concern of the artists and all our friends and I hope as you explore the catalog you will find works that inspire you and that will enrich your lives -- even as you touch the lives of others through your generosity.

The Soarway Independence

Stay tuned! Visit our website at www.Soarway.org in the coming weeks to watch the Soarway Independence being created! Hand-crafted by Tim Cullen of Hooligan Pens this is yet another work of art prepared exclusively for Soarway. The barrel of this fine pen is made from a piece of wood from America's Independence Hall! Tim's plan is to combine a red vintage cebloplast cap over a vintage Celluloid snakeskin cap with wood. All the metal accents will be titanium.

Someone will win this incredible historic piece during our Giving Tuesday Campaign on Crowdrise beginning late November. Watch for updates. This could be yours! Watch the Soarway Independence take shape and win a bit of history.

Wounded Heroes Conquer Hearts and Heights In Nepal

Our Wounded Heroes Trek of Hope Team with
U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Alaina Teplitz

Thanks to your support and great partners, like the International Development Institute, Operation Namaste, Four Seasons Travel, the Nepal Tourism Board, and our great friends at Etihad Airways our Wounded Heroes

It was an honor to support the first trek and we look forward to expanding the inclusive tourism program while recognizing our Wounded Heroes, empowering Nepalis with disabilities and working together to build a stronger, more resilient and safer Nepal.

Now that our team has returned we look forward to sharing their stories. We want to expand that engagement with Etihad, with the Nepal Tourism Board, with possible new partners like the Purple Heart Foundation and others to make this an enduring and sustainable program that drives change.
