The Future Looks Tense in Highly Suspect’s “My Name Is Human” Video

We have your first look at a sci-fi-flavored video from the politically charged band that made waves with an “IMPEACH” jacket at the Grammys.

No, the new music video from Grammy nominees Highly Suspect isn’t quite as political as the jacket the band’s frontman, Johnny Stevens, wore to music’s biggest night on February 12. (Stevens posed with his back toward the cameras on the red carpet so that they could capture his message: “IMPEACH.”) It’s not even as political as Stevens’s toilet, which features a very strategically placed anti-Trump sticker. It is, however, an evocative clip featuring sexy robots, a blindingly white futurescape, and a pretty little liar: actress Chloe Bridges, who stars in the video for “My Name Is Human.” (The track was up for best rock song at the Grammys; it ended up losing out to the late David Bowie.)

“A lot of people think the song is about being a human,” Stevens tells Vanity Fair via email. “I believe some of us aren’t human at all. Or at least not completely, but that is still our name. At some point in the last couple hundred years something changed. The androids, the aliens. . . They aren’t coming. We are here. A molecule can enter our atmosphere and change the entire worlds genetic makeup without anyone taking notice. You think little green men are the aliens? My ‘name’ is human. And Chloe Bridges rules.”
