Youth Programing

THE POINT’s Arts and Advocacy Youth Development Program – This central feature of THE POINT’s services offers after school and in-school programming throughout the year in addition to summer programming for 500 young people in grades 1-12. Through justice-based arts and service learning activities, THE POINT’s youth programs aim to support the academic, artistic and positive social development of young people in Hunts Point and engage them as leaders in community development. Specific youth programs include THE POINT After-School Program, the teen leadership group, A.C.T.I.O.N. (Activists Coming To Inform Our Neighborhood), and arts-in-education programs including the International Center of Photography (ICP) at THE POINT and Social Cirque at THE POINT (formally Cirque du Monde at THE POINT). THE POINT’s youth programs have been the recipients of awards including the Union Square and Coming Up Taller Awards for their unique blend of leadership development via art programming with a message.
