Clara's House opened its doors to serve the voiceless and vulnerable in the greater Sacramento, California region in January of 2010. In the twelve years since its inception, Clara's House has served over 1,800 patients with a current enrollment of about 1,200 active patients. We are open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday every week, providing ongoing and comprehensive health care at no cost to our patients.

Often our patients have not been to a medical provider in over 10-15 years. Our patients live in poverty, have no insurance, and do not qualify for any other governmental health care aid. We receive income from individual donors and grants. We do not receive monetary reimbursements for medical services provided from insurance companies or governmental programs.

Giving Activity

Mission

Guided by Franciscan values, Clara's House provides no-cost holistic and comprehensive primary health care to the poor and underserved who do not have access to any other governmental or private insurance medical programs.

Needs

We need to pay the rent to keep the doors open! Our only source of income is donations. We do not receive any insurance, governmental, Medicare, or Medi-Cal reimbursements.

We are an all volunteer staff!!! We do not charge our clients, and need volunteers to staff all positions! We are in special need of nurse practitioners and registered nurses.

We especially need volunteer systems administrators for our Microsoft Active Directory environment to maintain HIPAA federal privacy compliance.

We give an immunization; we get one back from the pharmaceutical companies' patient assistance programs. We give one. We get one. But, we have to fill out a pipeline first. Vaccine serum for a shingles shot costs us $220, and that's only one immunization. Patients receive a battery of immunizations. Help us fill the pipeline!

Help us help others! For example, we need donations for the patient medicines when costs are too high. We have patients who take the bus to clinic appointments -- and who cannot afford bus passes. Every little bit helps us help others!!
