Merit is in the process of developing a comprehensive platform that will be utilized statewide to aggregate individual and regional challenges across Michigan. Our primary objective is to establish a centralized and efficient FREE platform for local government and community partner organizations, with a focus on optimizing local BEAD eligibility.
In addition to the consolidated challenge platform, Merit aims to furnish all promotional materials targeted towards citizens for your use during the challenge process.
We are enthusiastic about collaborating with Michigan communities on this endeavor and extend a warm invitation for your involvement. Currently, we are welcoming all communities to participate. However, we will conduct a thorough analysis of the state, with technical assistance from MIHI and NTIA, to further refine and pinpoint the areas in Michigan where viable challenges are most likely to occur.
We will reach out to interested organizations to inform you about an upcoming "welcome webinar" scheduled for November. Subsequently, participating Merit Member entities can elect to become part of an ongoing forum hosted by Merit, known as the "Broadband Data Collection Mapping Working Group." Through this forum, we will provide guidance from December 2023 to February 2024 via virtual meetings. We ask for your patience as we continue to develop this initiative in real time.
