The Chernobyl Disaster, which occurred on 26th April 1986 with the explosion of the No. 4 reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, was a horrifying and tragic accident that claimed the lives of many innocent individuals. The United Nations General Assembly instituted Remembrance Day on 8th December 2016 to pay homage to the deceased and victims with long-term health problems.
