Weekend Portfolio: Erinn Springer
Images and Text by Erinn Springer
Wessington Springs, South Dakota – a town of 900 residents nestled amongst vast pastures and endless prairies – most often enjoyed for its fresh air and open spaces became an unexpected epicenter for COVID-19 in late 2020. These images were captured on assignment for Le Monde’s M Magazine during Thanksgiving weekend in a time when gathering and togetherness never felt so distant. The series is an observation of Wessington Springs' character and community, disproportionately affected by the virus, but resoundingly resilient in spirit.
