BIG NEWS: Today EPA awarded $156 million in Solar for All funding to Capital Good Fund to develop cost saving solar across Georgia and significantly expand Georgia BRIGHT, a groundbreaking program that makes solar panels more accessible for homeowners with limited incomes. This historic federal climate funding will give more homeowners access to affordable solar at no upfront costs, reducing energy bills and energy burden. In celebration of #EarthDay, Capital Good Fund is proud to share that we are one of 60 recipients nationwide sharing Solar For All’s $7B grant funded by the Inflation Reduction Act! This historic funding from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will connect low-income and disadvantaged communities with the funds to participate in America’s transition to a clean energy economy through rooftop solar. Capital Good Fund will receive $156M as the lead applicant for the Georgia BRIGHT Communities initiative, which consists of our coalition cities of Atlanta, Savannah, and Decatur, as well as nonprofits, community leaders, other local governments, and small businesses statewide. My favorite part of the day was meeting the job seekers and discussing workforce development.
