Senator Singer Hosts Economic Development Meeting with Orthodox Jewish Chamber, Ocean & Monmouth Officials (PHOTOS)

Today, the 30th Legislative District held an economic development meeting with Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce Founder and CEO Duvi Honig, Ocean County Freeholder Director Joe Vicari, and numerous mayors from Ocean and Monmouth counties.

“New Jersey is blessed with strong human capital, a prime location, robust transportation infrastructure, and the best public schools in the country,” said Singer (R-30). “Still, more can be done to increase our state’s economic competitiveness. I am proud to work with Mr. Honig and the Orthodox Jewish Chamber Of Commerce to help enhance our business development efforts, especially in Ocean and Monmouth counties.”

In this meeting, Freeholder Vicari said he would reach out to Monmouth County Freeholder Tom Arnone to discuss a joint committee to explore the vocational community, colleges and economic development for the bi-county area. Future discussions will include attracting businesses and skilled labor.

Last year, Senator Robert Singer’s resolution to designate the second Monday of May as “New Jersey Economic Development Day” was signed into law. Honig, a tireless advocate for economic and educational opportunities, championed the effort.

“I was truly honored to be presented with a Senate and General Assembly Resolution for introducing Economic Development Day,” said Honig. “There is no better tool to use than commerce to build bridges and unity between New Jersey communities with one goal in mind – helping to empower each other. We look forward to stimulating our economy together this May.”

“The designation of a statewide ‘Economic Development Day’ honors and inspires our youth to create, build, and dream of a better New Jersey,” added Singer. “That is why our economy will continue to grow and thrive.”
